Don Metter is the 2009 FFPC Champion!
The 2009 fantasy season has come to an end and what a season it was. The FFPC has crowned its 2nd Players Champion and it is Don Metter and his team “Bernie Madoff Is My Financial Advisor”. Don works in the financial services industry and felt that it was an appropriate team name for the 2009 season. I assume he will make better use of the $75,000 than Bernie would have.
Don’s team was littered with 2009 fantasy studs, including Tom Brady, Chris Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Miles Austin, and the Giants Steve Smith. He got solid production in the final weeks from LaDainian Tomlinson and Jonathan Stewart’s 30 points in week 16 helped, too. Don was forced to use tight ends Tony Scheffler and Dante Rosario after losing stud TE Owen Daniels in week 9, which makes his championship all the more impressive.
Don’s team posted a monster score of 213.60 in week 14. He followed with a modest 138.55, but then took down the title with a 172.35 in the final week. Don drafted live in Las Vegas in Barry Sanders league #1. Congrats once again to Don Metter, the 2009 FFPC National Champion!
