Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Your FFPC Main Event draft is after the Thursday night game.  What about those players?

Their stats will count toward week 1 scoring in the FFPC.  Since their performance is known, it will increase or decrease their value and it is up to the skill of each drafter to determine how to proceed with regard to the Thursday night performance.  While drafting after a game has been played may seem strange to some of you, this has been done before and actually adds a lot to draft strategy.  After drafting players from the Thursday's game, fantasy owners have the option to start them in Week 1 and lock-in the points they had already accumulated in that game.

Q: With the unfortunate events surrounding the AFFL and Turfwar contests defrauding their customers and not paying out prizes after the 2007 season followed by the Fantasy Jungle contest in 2008, what guarantee do I have that my prizes will be paid by the FFPC?

In light of the circumstances surrounding the AFFL, Turfwar and Fantasy Jungle, the FFPC understands the importance of customer trust with regards to prizes and payouts.  Alex Kaganovsky, one of FFPC founders, was personally affected as a player by these events, with a loss of $8,000.  It is for this very reason that all FFPC Main Event prize money will be placed in the attorney escrow account of Mark W. Yaros, Esq., a licensed attorney in the state of New Jersey, to show our customers how serious we are about protecting their money.  All prizes will be secured in this account prior to the draft on September 10th, 2010 and held there for the duration of the season.  This escrow account will not be accessed for any use other than payouts.  Prize-winning checks will be drawn directly from these funds at the end of the season and sent to the winners by January 10th, 2011, but probably sooner.

Q: Will you increase prizes if you get more than the announced 288 entries?

The FFPC's current payout percentage is among the best in the high-stakes arena and we are committed to keeping it as such.  If the Main Event entries exceed 288 teams (24 Leagues) this season, prizes will be increased accordingly.  Even if entries do not reach the announced 288 teams, the current prize structure will remain as is and will not be reduced for any reason.

Q: What are the FFPC Free-peat team achievement bonuses?

The FFPC has introduced a new & exciting way for the high stakes player to win - the FFPC Free-peat™ - which is a bonus system which will award 2-time league champions with a free entry the following year.  The system is simple:  Win your FFPC League Championship in 2 consecutive seasons and your entry into the FFPC Main Event the following year is free.

Q: Does the FFPC Free-peatapply to satellite leagues?

Yes!  The FFPC Free-peat will also apply to all Satellite Leagues including the Terminator and FFPC Jr. Tournaments.  Win 2 Satellite League Championships in consecutive seasons and one Satellite entry the following season is free.  The caveat is, if the two winning leagues are of different entry amounts, the FFPC Free-peat entry will be for the lower amount of the two leagues.

Q: Who is eligible to compete in the Fantasy Football Players Championship?

The FFPC is open to individuals who are 21 years of age or older and are legal residents in a jurisdiction in which the contest is permitted by law.  Residents that live in the states or anywhere else where the FFPC is prohibited or regulated by law are not permitted to enter or win prizes.  Military personnel stationed overseas can compete online.  Participants from outside the United States must check with their own country's laws regarding participation in FFPC.

Q: How will I be reassured that I am a participant in the Fantasy Football Players Championship?

Once you have either signed up online or sent the entry form by mail or fax, you will then recieve a confirmation email or phone call that your application has been recieved.  At this point, you are officially signed up.  We require a deposit or immediate full payment via check, money order or a major credit card.  Registrations can be refunded anytime until June 1st upon request.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

The Fantasy Football Players Championship accepts payment with all major credit cards but we encourage all participants to use check/cashier’s check or money order whenever possible.  Merchant service companies are giving accounts in the FF High-Stakes industry a "high-risk" classification and imposing 3.50-4.50% rates on credit card transactions.  We at FFPC would much rather prefer not to have to pay the merchants and instead, to give that money back to you - the Players - in form of the best payouts in the industry.  With your help, we can continue to make this happen.

Q: When will the FFPC send out prize money?

The FFPC wants you to get your prizes as soon as possible which is why we pledge to process your prizes and have your checks in the mail by January 10th, 2011.  All prize checks were all mailed within days of the end of the 2008 and 2009 seasons and you can expect to have a similiar standard of service for 2010 and beyond.  Provided, of course, that we have received your proper tax withholding information (W-9).

Q: Is there an Events Fee to go along with my registration fee?

Yes, we do have a $125 events fee for the live events but we'd like to think of it as an "optional" fee, since there is no events fee for the Online versions of the draft.  All events fees go towards paying the costs of renting the beautiful and ornate ballrooms in Caesars Palace.  Since we do not require a hotel room guarantee from our Players, something all 5-star host venues demand in exchange for discounted meeting space rates, the cost for our ballroom rental is quite substantial.  But in addition to a 5-star draft venue, we will also provide food and beverages for both manager and co-manager, as well as complimentary alcoholic drink(s) for each team.  We felt it was best to present the events fee as a separate charge from the main event entry fee, while giving the Players their money's worth in return.

Q. Is there a co-manager fee?

The FFPC did not have one in 2008 nor 2009 and will not have a co-manager fee for 2010, but may need to institute a small co-manager fee in the future.  We invite all primary participants to register a co-manager and bring him/her to the Live draft and enjoy the included food & beverages without having to pay extra.  Just be sure you put their name down in the application.

Q: When will the draft start?

There are four ways to draft in the Main Event for 2010: Two Live drafts and Two Online drafts.  Both Live Draft #1 and Online Draft #1 are held on Friday, September 10th, 2010 at 6:00 PM Pacific (9:00 PM Eastern).  Live Draft #2 and Online Draft #2 are on Saturday, September 11th, 2010 at 4:00PM Pacific (7:00 PM Eastern).  We ask everyone to be at the draft at least 15 minutes prior to the start.

Q: What if I am late?

We will try to find a surrogate drafter and contact you via cell phone.  It is likely that we could find someone for a short period of time to help out.  Do not be late.

Q: Can we bring laptops and/or cell phones to the draft?

A: Yes. We do not guarantee Internet access or electrical access to charge your computer.  Please bring your computer fully charged and/or bring spare batteries.  Cell phones can be used at any time.  Kindly keep conversation at a level that does not disturb neighboring drafters.  If it becomes an issue, we may ask you to refrain from using the phone.

Q: Will there be food, beverages and alcoholic drinks available at the draft?

Yes.  You have enough to worry about with a live draft that we are happy to provide food and beverage as part of our event and as a benefit of the events fee.  In addition, each team will receive drink ticket(s) for complimentary alcoholic drinks of their choosing.

Q: Will there be breaks in between rounds?

We will have a 20 minute break after round 7 and a 10 minute break after round 14.  Please be prompt as the draft could begin if you are not back in a timely fashion.

Q: How many players can we have on our roster?

We have a 20 player roster limit.  10 players should always remain active.  We do not have an injured reserve.  It is up to your individual fantasy skill to decide to keep an injured player on your roster.

Q: What is FAAB and how does that work?

FAAB refers to the Free Agent Allocation Budget.  Each team gets 1,000 free agent bidding "dollars" to acquire desired players during the regular season.  If a player is available on the free agent market, all teams will have the chance to add that player to their roster at any time by making a FAAB bid for him.  The team with the highest blind bid wins that free agent.  Bids remain hidden from the rest of the league until the waivers are processed.  Teams can bid on as many free agents as they would like each week as long as you have FAAB dollars left.  You can never bid more than you have FAAB remaining.  FAAB bidding will end in Week 11 for all teams NOT advancing to the League Playoffs.  Only teams in the League Playoffs will have their bidding period extended to include Weeks 12 and 13.

Q: How will the draft work?

All of the leagues will be seated according to draft order, 1 through 12, with two spots available for each team (more space if you don't have a co-manager).  Each league will be in a U-shape formation with the draft board along the open side.  There will be one draft facilitator with a stopwatch who will officially announce the picks and write them down on the official league scorecard.  A second draft facilitator will handle the draft board, putting colored stickers under each team that has selected a player.  The draft board will be big enough for all to see.

Q: How much time do we have to make a draft selection?

Live Draft:  Each team will have 60 seconds to make a pick in each round and the draft facilitator will give you a warning with 15 seconds left.  A final warning is given with a countdown from five seconds to zero.  If any team goes past its allotted time, the next team in the draft order would 60 seconds to make his/her selection and then the draft would go back to the previous owner, who will have a 5 second period to make their selection.  If they time out again, the next team will be allowed to pick and then they get 5 seconds again, and so on.

Online Draft:  Each team will have 2 minutes to make a pick in each round, a full 60 seconds more than during the Live draft.  This extra time is given in case there is an internet or a computer issue and the participants MUST contact the online draft commissioner within the 2 minute time frame to notify him of the problem.  It is for this reason that the participants are encouraged to make their selection as soon as possible.  If any team does not make a selection within the alloted 2 minute time frame or contact the commissioner, the draft software will make an automated selection.  This selection will not be changed.  If the online draft commissioner is contacted in time, the commissioner will be able to stop the draft and allow for a computer re-boot or he will accept the pick over the phone.  The commissioner of each live draft will post his or her contact number on the draft board.  During the 2008 and 2009 Online drafts we did not have issues with teams timing out so please don't worry.

Q: Are there any roster requirements?

No.  You can draft as many players as you would like at any position. The first week of blind bidding will start on Tuesday, September 14th, 2010.

Q: How is position eligibility determined?

All players will be listed according to their position of eligibility according to NFL.com and any player of question will be addressed before the draft.

Q: What happens if I don't have e-mail or Internet access?

It is required that you have internet access with email to participate in the FFPC.

Q: How can we prevent collusion in the Fantasy Football Players Championship?

Our contest is set up to prevent collusion.  Most fantasy players are honest people and until now, there have been zero witnessed attempts at collusion in the high stakes arena.  That said, we have taken steps to avoid issues.
1. We do not allow trades.
2. We randomize league selection as well as the drawing of draft slots.
3. We reserve the right to alter or make changes to any released free agent players, if we feel there is a possibility of collusion or if it is needed to preserve the competitive nature of the event.
4. We also reserve the right to disqualify any team that has acted in a collusionary manner.

Q: If I have a co-manager and we win prizes, how are the prizes distributed to us?

As a default, we always pay the principal owner.  However, upon written request of the principal owner, we will allow payment to the c0-manager.  W-9 information must be submitted for both award recipients.  Each share of the prize payment must be $600 or greater.  There is also a $25 processing fee for each prize splitting transaction.

Q: How do you determine who makes the two week League Playoffs?

The four participants in the two week League Playoffs will be:

#1 Seed: The team with the best record
#2 Seed: The remaining team with the highest point total
#3 Seed: The remaining team with the best record. (neither of the first two teams)
#4 Seed: The remaining team with the most points. Tie breakers for the best record in each league after the regular season are: Total points during the regular season, Head to head win/loss record, Quarterback points (First 11 weeks), Coin toss.

Q: How do you determine which teams make the Championship round in Weeks 14 through 16?

The number 1 and number 2 seeds from the regular season receive AUTOMATIC bids into the Championship Round. This is regardless of how they do in the League Playoff bracket.
The number 3 or number 4 seed in the regular season can qualify for the Fantasy Football Players Championship round if they win their individual league championship during the 2 week League Playoff in weeks 12 and 13.
Third Place money is awarded in each league to the team that wins in Week 13; this game is played by the two teams that lost in week 12.

Q: What is the waiver wire bidding time frame and when does bidding end?

The bidding process starts after the completion of Week 1 and ends prior to Week 11 (for the 8 teams not in the League Playoffs) on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 8:00 pm ET.  Bids will be accepted on the each league web site from Tuesday at 9:00 am ET until Friday at 8:00 pm ET in weeks 1-9 and until Wednesdays at 8:00pm in weeks 10-11 when there is a Thursday game.  The 4 teams in the League Playoffs will be able to pick up players until week 13.  No other teams will be able to bid on players other than the playoff teams in weeks 12 and 13.  The bidding process is closed for all teams in Weeks 14-16.

Q. What is the deadline for stat changes?

Since the NFL and the Elias Sports Bureau announced most statistical changes on Thursdays last year, in the interest of each FFPC team receiving the most accurate statistics possible, we have pushed the deadline for stat changes as far back as possible.  The deadline for stat changes is Friday morning at 12:00 am eastern time.  Stats changes will be processed automatically in the Fantasy Football Players Championship any time until that deadline.  Appeals can still be made via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it use APPEAL in the subject line.

Q: Can I bid multiple amounts on the same free agent?

No, you can only bid one amount on a given free agent.

Q: How are free agent bids prioritized in the FFPC leagues?

Bids are prioritized by dollar amount.  The team which bids the most bidding dollars will be awarded that free agent.  Once that free agent has been awarded to the winning bidder, all other bids for that free agent are discarded as losing bids.  Then the highest remaining bid by any team for any remaining free agent will be considered.  (There may be exceptions to the above. Please consult the FFPC rules and the RTSports.com blind bidding format for clarification).

Q: What are the payouts for online satellite leagues?

The prizes are listed in the rules for satellite leagues.  Prizes range from 81-90% payouts.

Q: How much FAAB money do I have for the season?

The free agent system will be a blind bidding process.  Each team will start with 1,000 free agent “dollars” for the season, and will be permitted to bid for free agents on a weekly basis.  No team will be informed of any other team’s free agent bids until after the winning bids have been awarded.  A team owner will no longer be able to bid on free agents once their season long waiver wire cap of $1,000 has been reached.

Q: How are ties broken in the waiver wire process?

If there is a tie, the team that has less total points will get the player.
